Jenny Dye, MA.Ed., LPC, NCC

Jenny Dye (she/her/hers) is an Assistant Director for Cook Connect and a staff counselor at Cook Counseling Center.  Cook Connect is the brief assessment and collaborative planning that students first attend when seeking support.  Jenny's goal is to develop culturally responsive services within Cook Connect and to collaborate with students in connecting to all supportive resources.

Her professional experience includes emergency mental health services, assessment and intake services, individual and group therapy, and inpatient crisis stabilization.  She has worked in a variety of settings including community mental health and counseling services in school settings. 

Jenny's therapeutic approach is guided by motivational and strengths/solution focused interventions.  Jenny also uses trauma informed care when talking with students and strives to be an ally to students and staff with underrepresented identities.

Jenny has an undergraduate degree from the University of Mary Washington and completed her Master of Arts in Education through the Counselor Education program at Virginia Tech.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and an Approved Clinical Supervisor.
