Services from Cook Counseling Center are available to all students who have paid their health fee. The center utilizes a focused treatment model. After the initial evaluation, the clinician will discuss treatment options with the students, which could include short-term individual therapy, group counseling, or referral to another university resource. In some cases, (e.g., when long-term therapy is indicated, if the student needs to be seen more intensively than is possible at the center, or when a service is not available through the center), the optimal treatment plan may involve referral to a practitioner in the community. Staff at Cook Counseling Center can help with referral to the appropriate provider.
