Antonio Bolden, M.S.

Coordinator for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Programs / Licensed Professional Counselor

Antonio Bolden is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Black/African-American liaison, and Coordinator for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Cook Counseling Center. Originally from Portsmouth Virginia (Hampton Roads), Antonio is a former student athlete that received his bachelor’s degree from Bluefield State College, and his master's degree from Radford University. He has extensive experience working in community mental health, facilitating individual, group, and community-based services; Additionally, he has experience with supporting athletes build their mental skills to improve their performance. His professional interests are racial trauma, diversity and inclusion, religion/spirituality, sports and performance, adjustment, identity, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and stress management.

Antonio has an integrative therapeutic approach. His theoretical orientations consist of multiple forms of cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered, relational therapy, and mindfulness. Antonio enjoys using alternative strategies to aid in managing well-being, such as music and mindfulness. He utilizes multiple interventions to support his clients with reaching their goals. Antonio offers an accepting environment, where his clients experience a healthy working relationship.
