Carley Peace

Carley (she/her/hers), a doctoral psychology intern at Cook Counseling Center, is pursuing her PhD in Counseling Psychology and School Psychology at Florida State University (FSU). She enjoys working with college students individually and in therapy groups to address a wide range of clinical concerns, including anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, and career concerns. Before joining Cook Counseling Center, Carley worked as a counselor at FSU Counseling & Psychological Center, Psychological Wellness Group, LLC, and the FSU Career Center. Her research interests involve the intersection of career concerns, mental health, and personality.

In the therapy room, Carley strives to create a warm and open atmosphere in which clients feel supported and understood. She recognizes that it takes courage to seek counseling, and she considers it a privilege to support clients in their journey towards personal growth and healing. Carley works from an integrative model with a strong emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy, cultural humility, and interpersonal processing.

Originally from South Carolina, Carley enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, traveling, hiking, playing the cello, and trying to keep her cat, Pinto, out of mischief.
