Jonah McManus

Jonah McManus (he/him) is a Psychology Intern at Cook Counseling Center. While still learning new techniques, Jonah generally works from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy stance informed by compassion and mindfulness practices with a focus on client’s goals and strengths. He has a passion for working with college students as they face new challenges and explore new ways of being. He has done research focusing on body image, video games, and journaling.

In the therapy room, Jonah collaborates with his clients to set an agenda that meets the client’s needs that day as well as their overall therapy goals. He uses a wide set of exercises and techniques in an empathetic atmosphere.

In his free time, Jonah enjoys playing video games, cooking, and enjoying the nature of Virginia. Jonah is currently getting his PsyD in School and Clinical Psychology at Kean University in New Jersey. He is originally from Louisiana and earned his masters from University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
