Mary Gaskill

Mary is a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 20 years of experience in mental and behavioral healthcare. While there are many approaches to therapy, she sees it as a purposeful and pragmatic process, an experience that moves you deliberately toward one or more mutually negotiated goals. Her approach is warm, affirming, and open-minded, and she hopes to offer you an encounter that is comforting, reassuring, and unique for you. She also aligns her approach with science and the principles of sound practice and judgement. Mary is curious to get to know you, and is eager to create a space where you can activate a sense of meaning and hope in whatever brings you to Cook Counseling. She has a Bachelor's in English from the University of Mary Washington, and a Master's in Counselor Education from Virginia Tech. Her specialities include depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment, parenting concerns, relationship issues, and spirituality/holistic practices. She is located at the North End Center satellite office.
