Fiona Allen, M.S.W.
Fiona L Allen (she/her) serves as a Triage Clinician here at Virginia Tech! As a social worker Fiona utilizes family systems, and liberatory frameworks within her practice of care. As a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in History (BA) and Social Work (MSW) she brings a unique educational background that colors her work with a historically oriented anti-oppression informed lens. Fiona brings years of community based social work into her practice and allows those experiences to guide her frameworks of care. Her strong background in community crisis work has made her an adept member of the triage team at Cook. Additionally, Fiona is an experienced sexual and reproductive health care worker. This experience allows her to specialize her work at Cook towards working with individuals, families, and couples navigating abortion, pregnancy, miscarriage, and postpartum as well as sexuality and sexual health concerns such as STI/STD diagnosis, pornography use, sexual functioning, and sex education.
Fiona carries multiple intersecting identities that inform her practice. In her off-time Fiona enjoys spending time with her family and community. Together they spend time exploring SWVA and watching TV.
