Yvette Mitchell, L.C.S.W.

Yvette Mitchell works as an Embedded Counselor for the Greater Washington DC area. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with almost 20 years of mental health counseling experience. Yvette has worked in a variety of mental health settings including clinical private practice, psychiatric inpatient and partial hospitalization programs, schools, and employee assistance programs. Throughout her career, she has provided clinical support to adolescents, young adults and adults who have struggled with issues such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, life transitions, and communication skills.

Yvette holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Texas, El Paso. When collaborating with clients she often draws from cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness practices and approaches her work from a strengths-based and trauma-informed lens. In her free time, Yvette spends time with her family and seeks out live music whenever she can.
