Gilbert Place Location

By Car

Parking is limited and we encourage other modes of transportation. The parking lot in front of and underneath the building are for the retail spaces only and the lots will be monitored. Cars with Virginia Tech parking permits may be towed.

There is ADA parking in front of the building and this is where we suggest students who have an accessible parking need and the appropriate permits park.

If you are coming from off-campus and unable to take the bus to our location, parking for student permits is available on the 7th level of the North End Garage (300 Turner Street). Students are required to pay the daily charge even with a valid parking permit. The day charges are:

0-15 min: No charge
16 min to 1 hour: $3
1-2 hours: $6
2-3 hours: $8 (maximum daily rate)
Lost ticket charge: $20.

The building is also a 5- to 10-minute walk from the Perry Street Garage. A Perry Street parking pass is required, so this garage is recommended for students who are already commuting to campus and parking in the Perry Street Garage.

By Bus

The Blacksburg Transit Center Loops are located across the street from Goodwin Hall, which is just a few blocks from our building. Check ridebt.org/loops to see which loop Maroon or Orange the route will stop at. The closest actual stops to Gilbert Place are:

#1104 - Old Security Building
#1334 - Prices Fork/Turner Ebnd.

Buses that service these stops are:

#1334 North Main Givens (NMG), Patrick Henry Drive (PHD), and Progress Street (PRG)
#1104 Old Security Building, Campus Shuttle (CAS), Harding Avenue (HDG), Hokie Express (HXP), South Main Airport (SMA), and South Main Pro Park (SMP)

By Bike/Scooter

Bike racks are located in the front of the building. E-bikes, e-scooters and other similar personal electric devices must be parked and secured at designated outdoor bicycle racks or other approved outdoor parking areas only.

By Foot

If you are coming from on-campus, the building is a 10-minute walk from Squires or the Graduate Life Center, a 15-minute walk from Hoge Hall, and a 20-minute walk from New Hall West.

Residential Well-being Location

The RWB office is in 107 East Eggleston Hall, which is located on the corner of the drillfield across from the library and the bookstore. Please call 540-231-6557 if you need assistance finding this location.
