Lisa Racek M.S.

As Office Manager and Assistant to the Director, Lisa helps oversee the daily operations at Cook Counseling and helps create a welcoming and inclusive environment for students and university partners that interact with Cook’s services. Lisa is a two-time Hokie alum, with an undergraduate degree in English and a master’s degree in Leadership from the university. Prior to working at Cook, she helped with the launch of the Residential Well-being model on campus, and supported students, faculty, and staff in the Associate Dean’s office in CALS. Lisa has been employed at Virginia Tech since 2012, and Cook Counseling since Jan. 2023.

Lisa’s signature themes are connectedness, belief, empathy, developer, and discipline. She enjoys hanging out with her Hokie family, two dogs, reading, and weekend adventures to local areas. She thoroughly enjoys serving the students, clinicians, staff, and campus partners at Cook Counseling and beyond.
