Crisis Counselor

Christina is a Crisis Counselor where she works to support students in crisis while also connecting them to supportive resources within the Virginia Tech and surrounding community. She earned her B.A. in Sociology from St. Bonaventure University and her MSW from the University at Buffalo in 2010. She has been providing clinical care across the lifespan since 2010 in various communities ranging from rural Georgia to inner-city Buffalo, NY. Christina’s clinical experience includes crisis assessment and consultation as well as supporting people through significant life transitions. Her clinical framework is primarily informed by humanistic and family systems perspectives, and she believes that humor and empathy are essential to providing quality clinical care. During her free time, Christina enjoys reading, audiobooks, crocheting, documentaries, and hiking. She lives on 19 acres on the outskirts of Blacksburg with her partner, three children, and three dogs and tries to enjoy all that living in the New River Valley has to offer.
