Jennifer Nelson-Faulconer, Ed.S.

Doctoral Psychology Intern

Jen Nelson-Faulconer is a Doctoral Intern at Cook Counseling Center. She is completing her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at James Madison University and previously worked as a school psychologist. Her professional experience has focused on supporting teens, young adults, and families in both school and community settings.

Jen’s approach to therapy is grounded in attachment theory, and she enjoys working with a broad range of students, including international, non-traditional, and graduate students. Her clinical interests include eating disorders, anxiety and depression, performance anxiety, and life transitions. She is passionate about helping students navigate belonging, identity, and the academic or relational challenges that come with these transitions. She values building collaborative, supportive relationships and creating a safe space where students feel understood and empowered.

Outside of work, Jen enjoys spending time with her family and her dog. She loves the outdoors, whether hiking in the Appalachian Mountains, heading west to the Rockies, relaxing at the beach, or traveling to new places.
