Jennifer Olcott, B.S.

Jenny attended James Madison University for her undergraduate studies, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. While at JMU, she completed her practicum at Sentara outpatient behavioral health clinic, working with groups in Life Recovery, the Intensive Outpatient Program, and the Partial Hospitalization Program. In addition, she served as a student intern at the university’s counseling center, gaining further experience in supporting student mental health.
After earning her degree in Psychology, Jenny worked as an Intake Coordinator in Richmond, VA, helping families navigate services such as Applied Behavioral Analysis, individual therapy, and Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) testing across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
She went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Virginia Tech. As part of her graduate training, she served as a student school counselor at an elementary school within Roanoke County Public Schools and will complete her clinical internship at the Cook Counseling Center.
Jenny has a strong passion for working with undergraduate students and is dedicated to helping them navigate the academic, social, and emotional challenges that often arise during the college years. She utilizes a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Person-Centered modalities in her practice.
In her free time Jenny enjoys exploring different hiking trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains, distance running, yoga, and skiing during the winter months.
