Caitlyn Bischoff, Psy.D.
Caitlyn Bischoff (Thelen) earned her Psy.D. in Counseling Psychology from Radford University and recently completed her pre-doctoral internship at Cook Counseling Center. Her dissertation focused on impostor phenomenon among women in STEM. She also holds a B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience from the University of Michigan and an M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University.
As the Embedded Counselor for the Pamplin College of Business, Caitlyn provides counseling to business students and consultation to Pamplin College of Business faculty and staff. She also facilitates presentations and trainings related to student mental health for the Pamplin College of Business and Virginia Tech campus.
Caitlyn has experience primarily working with concerns related to adjustment, depression, anxiety, trauma, and eating/body image concerns. She uses a range of therapy approaches, including cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and interpersonal process. She works to create a collaborative environment where students can explore how their thoughts and beliefs about themselves and others impact their mental health and well-being and work to change those thoughts and beliefs. Caitlyn also aims to build warm and supportive relationships with her students, as she believes that the therapeutic relationship is critical to change.
