Muriel Vinson, M.A.

Resident in Counseling

Muriel specializes in combining therapeutic techniques, based on her client's needs, to promote wellness. These include use of somatic techniques, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and expressive arts therapy. Muriel utilizes a liberatory, systemic, and person-centered framework to provide accessible, relevant, and intersectional mental health services that fosters healing, an integrated sense of self, and overall wellness to people across age, gender identity, ability, race, religion, socioeconomic status, and sexual orientation. Muriel has experience providing therapy and counseling to clients experiencing addiction, personality disorders, trauma, sexual dysfunction, relationship violence, relationship dysfunction, identity development issues, ADHD, emotional dysfunction, boundary dysfunction, burnout, anxiety, body dysmorphia, gender dysphoria, chronic homelessness, developmental delays, depression, grief, mood disorders, and neurodivergence in children, teens, individual adults, families and couples.

Muriel is passionate about the intersection between West African song, drum and dance and the mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing of clients who are descendants of the African diaspora.
