Residential Well-being Embedded Counseling

As part of Virginia Tech’s Residential Well-Being (RWB) model, Cook Counseling has four RWB Embedded Counselors dedicated to serving the over 10,000 students living on campus. Their mission, in collaboration with Residential Well-Being stakeholders, is to elevate students’ mental, emotional, and social well-being by reducing barriers to mental health services. As an extension of Cook Counseling, our RWB Embedded Counselors provide outreach, crisis response, drop-in consultation, and short-term individual and group counseling support at locations in close proximity to residence halls throughout evening hours.

You can find our RWB Embedded Counselors between the hours of 2:00pm-11:00pm Monday-Thursday, and 8:00am-5:00pm on Fridays in two locations on campus. Counselors for Districts 1-4 are housed in Peddrew-Yates, Suite 190, and our District 5 Counselor is housed in Lane Hall, Bay 4, Room 342. If you are a student living on campus and would like to connect with an RWB Embedded Counselor, refer to your Student Leader or a Residential Well-being Coordinator or schedule online below.
