Arohan Rimal, M.A.

Embedded Counselor in Residential Well-being

Arohan works as an Embedded Counselor within the Residential Wellbeing program. Arohan received his Master of Arts degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from William Paterson University and his Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from University of Louisiana Monroe. Arohan is currently a generalist practitioner but aims to gain more experience working with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and issues concerning grief. While Arohan enjoys working with students from a variety of backgrounds, he specializes in working with students who are experiencing stressors relating to cultural integration and/or acculturation. Originally from Nepal, Arohan also gets very excited about the prospect of working with international students. 

Arohan primarily uses an integrative method to therapy that uses Cognitive-Behavioral techniques with Psychodynamic theory and evolutionary understanding of behavior. Arohan's practice is also heavily influenced by existential psychotherapy and person-centered theory. If you are a client, what this means for you is that Arohan believes that the client is always an expert in their life and will utilize a variety of techniques from different schools of thought to meet your individual needs in therapy. 

In his free time, Arohan enjoys consuming any form of media (fictional/non-fictional books, graphic novels, tv shows, plays, or movies) that tells a good story with characters with depth.
