Paul Angelucci, M.A.

Embedded Counselor in Residential Well-being

Paul works as an Embedded Counselor within Virginia Tech’s Residential Well-being Program. With over five years of experience in residence life and a background in clinical mental health counseling, Paul enjoys collaborating with students and staff to create a supportive, growth-focused community. As a generalist practitioner, Paul helps students navigate challenges such as anxiety, life transitions, identity development, and relationship dynamics. He believes in meeting students where they are and emphasizes building a strong therapeutic alliance. Using a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Person-Centered Therapy, Paul’s approach fosters meaningful, sustainable change. Paul holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Iona University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Bryant University. He is also deeply involved in nonprofit work, serving on the boards of My Friend Abby and Friends of Appalachia, that work to support suicide prevention and community-building initiatives. Most notably, as a grant recipient, Paul launched a positive quote text line that offers encouragement and inspiration aimed at fostering resilience and hope. In his free time, Paul enjoys staying active, hiking, volunteering, and spending time with friends and family. Passionate about helping others become the best versions of themselves, Paul is excited to bring this dedication to his work with students at Virginia Tech.
