Aaron Gardner, M.S., M.A.

Doctoral Psychology Intern

Aaron Gardner (He/Him) is a Doctoral Psychology Intern at Cook Counseling Center. He works with individuals and couples across the Hokie community, including international students, students of color, and individuals exploring a range of sexual orientations and gender identities.

Aaron collaborates with students around identity development, body image, relationships, and life transitions, and engages in conversations about challenging topics such as death, religion, sexuality, masculinity and femininity, disability, and cultural identity. His clinical approach is grounded in person-centered principles and incorporates cognitive-behavioral strategies, emphasizing strengths-based and positive psychology interventions to create a flexible environment.

Currently, Aaron is a fourth-year Psy.D. candidate at Radford University. During his leisure time, he delights in expanding his vinyl collection, following DJs and radio scenes, discovering local cuisine, and playing video games.
