Administrative and Staff Development
Cook Counseling Center senior staff and interns meet weekly for a one and a half hour administrative staff meeting as well as a one and a half hour multidiciplinary case consultation meeting. During the consultation meetings, the staff divides into smaller teams for case conference discussions, during which, staff and trainees present and discuss cases for which they wish clinical feedback and direction and during which clients that may be in need of coordination of services within and across the university, may be discussed. Client utilization patterns are also discussed in the consultation meetings.
Staff, interns and invited speakers provide periodic staff development training in areas of professional interest and multicultural competence. Over the course of the training year, interns are expected to develop and present to the staff a diversity case conceptualization, an outreach project on the topic of their choice, and share the results of their research project(s).
