Katie Hundley, M.Ed.
Katie is a Licensed Professional Counselor who serves as the Coordinator for Graduate Student Clinical Services and is the Coordinator for Embedded Services at Cook Counseling. Katie is passionate about working with graduate students and works tirelessly to empower clients in living full, authentic lives.
Katie attended Radford University where she received her Master of Science degree in Counselor Education with a focus in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2011. She received her bachelor's degree in psychology and political Science from Emory and Henry College in 2007.
Katie considers it an honor to work with students from all cultures and students with diverse backgrounds. Katie believes the counseling process should be collaborative with the client’s needs and motivation for change, being the guiding point for therapy. Katie’s therapy style is casual and calm, while she offers skills around nervous system regulation, mindfulness, communication, boundary setting, and self-compassion. Katie blends traditional counseling theories, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care.
In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, attending drag shows, and live music – but more often she is chasing her two young children.
