Ramah E. Steinruck, Ph.D.

Rami is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at Cook Counseling Center. She earned both her B.S. in Art Education and her M.Ed. in Student Affairs with College Counseling at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. She completed her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Memphis. Rami enjoys working with college students, regardless of presenting concerns. She has particular interest in working with first generation students, identity concerns, trauma, and eating disorders. Rami approaches work with clients in a collaborative way, where working together, students gain meaningful insight into how they understand themselves in the world. Although Rami’s approach is informed by constructivist psychotherapy, she also incorporates interpersonal processing and feminist/multicultural theories in counseling. Her research focuses on LGBT issues and career counseling, with her dissertation exploring how heterosexist experiences at work affect career success and factors that buffer negative mental health outcomes of heterosexism at work. In her free time, Rami enjoys running, biking, kayaking, baking, and making friends with every dog she meets.
