Gabby Patarinski, B.S.
Gabby Patarinski (she/her) is a 3rd year graduate student in Virgina Tech’s clinical science psychology Ph.D. program. Gabby is from the Shenandoah Valley, VA and attended George Mason University for her undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in neuroscience. She was also a post-baccalaureate clinical research coordinator at Drexel University’s WELL Center in Philadelphia, PA for two years.
Gabby is excited to work with individuals of all backgrounds and presenting concerns. She has experience conducting individual therapy, group therapy, and psychological assessment at the Psychological Services Center community clinic. Her clinical interests include eating disorders, body image, perfectionism, depression, suicidality, identity formation, and interpersonal relationships. Her research focuses on eating disorders and body image in marginalized populations, particularly LGBTQ+ individuals. Gabby’s therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. She utilizes an integrative and flexible approach to treatment, incorporating aspects of acceptance and commitment, cognitive-behavioral, and other evidence-based therapies.
In her free time, Gabby enjoys spending quality time with friends and family (including her two cats), playing video games, doing arts and crafts, going to theatre shows, and reading books/listening to podcasts.
