Julia Linger, M.A.
Julia Linger (she/her) is a doctoral psychology intern at Cook Counseling Center. Julia enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds and seeks to create a welcoming, safe, and collaborative therapeutic relationship with all her clients. Her areas of clinical interest include interpersonal difficulties, family of origin work, identity exploration and life transitions, trauma, and disability. She works from an integrative perspective, incorporating interpersonal, feminist, attachment-based, and trauma-informed approaches to provide holistic psychological support.
In her free time, Julia enjoys being in nature with her dog, cooking new recipes, and reading fantasy. She is originally from Virginia, received her B.A. in psychology from the University of Virginia, her M.A. in mental health counseling from Boston College, and is in the process of earning her PsyD in clinical and school psychology from James Madison University. She has provided psychotherapy and assessment services in community mental health, college counseling, hospital, and school settings.
